1. What is the Red Cedar Book Award?

   Each year, students just like you vote for their favourite books. You decide who gets the Red Cedar Book Award by voting for your favourite fiction and non-fiction books.

    

2. I’ve tried to post a review, but I cannot. What is the problem?

   If your group leader, i.e. your teacher, teacher-librarian or public librarian, has not registered your group on this website, then you will not be able to post reviews. Your group cannot vote either, until it is registered.

    

   If your group leader is not sure how to register, they may do so under the Group Leaders Resources Website Tab.

3. When does Red Cedar happen?

   The program starts in November each year, during Canadian Children’s Book Week.  You and your group read and discuss the books until April. You vote for your favourite books at the end of April, and winners are announced in May.

4. Can I make a donation to the Young Readers' Choice Awards Society of BC?

   Yes!  We are a registered charity, and as such can issue charitable donation receipts for all cash donations.  Please make cheques payable to the Young Readers' Choice Awards Society of BC.  You can send your donation to:
