I give this book a rating of 4.8 because it captivates you from the very first page, pulling you along with Nia’s hardships. This book is about a headstrong girl going against tradition to accomplish her dream and fulfill her promise. Although the book was captivating and fun to read, the feeling of emotion it conveyed was not as deep as it could have been. Otherwise, this novel was an outstanding narration of a girl living in the slums, not only having to care for herself but also for her brother and father too.
