Dominion

Dominion by Shane Arbuthnott

Molly grew up hearing the tales of Haviland Stout, her ancestor who discovered the dangerous magical spirits that inhabit the far corners of the world. Now, on the edge of the New World, in the British Dominion of Terra Nova, Molly and her family collect spirits aboard their airship, the Legerdemain. But when Molly captures a spirit that can speak and claims to have been Haviland’s friend, her entire life is upended. What if everything she knows about the spirits, and her own history, is a lie?

I wanted to read this wonderful book because I read the back of it and it caught my attention. ‘Dominion’ was so interesting that I couldn’t put it down. I actually didn’t. It’s about people trying to catch “spirits” that walk out from their own spirit-world. What I like about ‘Dominion’ is that the events that happened to the main characters were not predictable. For example, I was surprised that Molly. Stout, a 14-year old girl, got injured so many times: one hand broke, ribs were in pain, etc. Molly also had a special way with spirits, to her, they weren’t just strange creatures-but actual people! What I didn’t like about the book was that ‘Dominion’ was also very sad. I give Dominion a great rating of 5/5!!!!!! I would recommend Dominion to anyone that is interested in fantasy stories.
Why don’t you read this book?
